Language Link sponsors Euro-day in Moscow
On Saturday, May 15th, Language Link sponsored Euro-day in Moscow. The event, advertised as a free concert for Muscovites, featured some of the best new vocal groups appearing on the Russian pop music scene today. Though originally scheduled for two venues, The Kremlin and Gorky Park, concerns over security eventually ruled out a city centre concert. Regardless, Euro-day proved to be a resounding success as, in addition to plenty of pop music, visitors were treated to helium balloons and whistles which were handed out by British Bobbys (at least they were dressed like British Bobbys). Going online with Flex e-Learning English
In December 2004, the Academic Board of Language Link Russia decided that the time had come to teach English online. Though there have been a few glitches (it would be online otherwise), students are now signing up and registering for all the bells and whistles that this distance learning tool has to offer: English courses for children, adults and business people, TOEFL Prep courses for study abroad hopefuls, slang/ business idioms of the day and so on. Learning English in Russia has taken on a whole new dimension. Sound interesting? Be our guest, and take a tour. Details

A WAP site for Language Link . . .
Ever since the Managing Director of Language Link decided to create the Department of Multimedia and Online Learning Solutions, a number of ideas have been either floated past his desk or tried out.
Not being one to say, “No” to anything nouveau, a lot of time has been spent investigating a number of nouveau ideas. One such idea, a Language Link WAP site appears to have found little favour with the MD. Word has it that it is only a matter of time before the boys and girls in R & D are told to ‘WAP it up”. Online Olympiad to go international
After successfully running more than a dozen online English, French and German Olympiads in Russia, discussions are well underway to (take out) for Language Link to run an online English Olympiad in Mongolia. Alright, admittedly, Mongolia isn’t exactly on the other side of the world, but it is across the border, therefore international. Details

Welcome back, John
John Bennett, Principal of Language Link Russia, has just returned home after a one-week absence in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. Though a well-deserved holiday would have been preferable, instead John ran an intensive one week teacher training course for the English Language Department of Krasnoyarsk State University. True to his proverbial self, John, once again, proved to be a hit. Details

New facelift for Language Link
2005 is proving to be a ‘grand opening’ year for Language Link. Having moved Language Link’s corporate headquarters to the RGGU Business Center, the company has now followed this up by opening one new location and breaking ground on a second (knock on wood). In March, Language Link officially opened its all new Dolgoprudnye Centre for Language Study and in April signed a letter of intent to rent and renovate space in Balashika. Both cities are located in the suburbs of Moscow. Details
