May to see the unveiling of Link Up
It is no great secret that the sheer size of Russia (twice that of The States) defeated both Napoleon and Hitler. Though Language Link is not looking to conquer Russia, it is trying to find a better and more efficient way to communicate across the thousands of miles that can separate Language Link schools. This problem, or more precisely discussion of this problem, has given birth to Link Up. Link Up will be a secure, non-public part of Language Link’s corporate site which, when accessed by an authorized user (such as a teacher), will provide immediate academic and administrative information and support. So as to make this a more powerful communication tool, Link Up will incorporate a Forum, Chat and Teacher Message Board. Though designing and putting Link Up online has called for Herculean effort on the part of Misha Prushinsky, the real task will be getting teacher to use it. Time will tell.
PS. Since writing this, it has been decided to add pre- and post-arrival information to Link Up, thus broadening its user base to include future teachers to Russia.
