Throughout the Work-Study Translation programme you work for around 20 hours per week in Language Link’s Translation Bureau translating texts from Russian into English and correcting English texts from a native-speaker’s point of view. This work is complemented by attending 9 - 20 academic hours of Russian classes per week (please note that 1 academic hour is 45 minutes long). The standard programme is based on 12 academic hrs/week study, but you may also choose a more or less intensive Russian course.
Work–Study Translation contracts are usually for 12, 24 or 36 weeks. However, it is possible to arrange a contract for any number of weeks between 12 and 36 if you so wish (price quotes for non-standard programme lengths are available upon request).
Work-Study Translation is currently available in Moscow only, but limited places may be offered in St Petersburg at a later stage.
It is possible to start the Work-Study Translation programme at any time of year, provided there is a vacancy available. Applications should be submitted no later than three months prior to your planned arrival in Russia.
